Under the overall leadership of the Director Capability Development and in collaboration with other ERC teams and partnering functions, the Global Training and Development Manager will assume a key role in educating our associates around Novartis’ value of “Integrity” and ensuring that they know how to make good ethical decisions even in challenging business situations.

The Global Training & Development Manager will also be responsible for equipping associates with a thorough understanding of applicable business practices through highly effective and engaging global awareness and training programs.

Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Leverage in depth knowledge of business ethics to lead the development and implementation of engaging and thought-provoking resources to support upskilling of ERC and various business functions and Leadership segments on ethical leadership and decision making.
  • Lead the creation of global e-trainings, to potentially all 100k associates, on ERC owned topics, ensure consistent high quality and meaningful learner experience, while demonstrating evidenced training impact. Ensure trainings are set-up to meet regulatory requirements on mandatory training.
  • Develop in-depth, risk-based and role-relevant learning curricula and solutions on the “Doing Business Ethically Policy”, with the goal to minimize the risk of bribery and undue influence and protect Novartis’ reputation.
  • Drive innovative training solutions, through built-in training in Novartis-wide systems and portals to reduce the burden of remembering and ensure associates have the right information in the moment of needs, built in the flow of work.
  • Engage in external and internal learning / development networks to identify emerging trends and best practices that can be integrated into our learning portfolio.
  • Build networks and collaborate with other teams, within and outside ERC to maximize impact and engagement.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Master Degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of ethics, risk and compliance programs
  • Subject matter expertise on business ethics with a proven ability to develop impactful learning content on ethical decision making and ethical leadership for non-expert audience
  • 2+ years experience in adult learning content development in areas related to Ethics, Risk and Compliance
  • Experience in developing and rolling out learning content in a fast and agile manner
  • Knowledge of the Novartis learning ecosystem e.g. Up4Growth, LXP etc.
  • Fluent English
