About the team



Reporting to the Head of Group Tax, the Head Group Tax Operations will be leading our global tax operations function, a critical operational backbone of the Tax team. This position is a key driver of change to achieve further tax process efficiency and delivery in Swiss Re. A senior member of the global tax team with significant reporting line responsibility and a member of the Group Tax


Management, the Head Group Tax Operations:



• Co-develops with Head Group Tax and leads the strategy and roadmap for tax operations function in alignment with Group Tax priorities
  • Develops and leads the Group Tax Operations function identifying complex problems, driving results and establishing efficient best practices.
  • Oversees tax reporting, compliance and audit processes. Partners with Regional Tax Directors to ensure timely and accurate filing and delivering tax compliance and reporting productions
  • Collaborates with Head Group Tax and the Tax Management team to develop and implement short and long-term delivery model and technology strategies, evaluating all options including outsourcing, simplification, automation or insourcing within Group Tax or wider Finance functions.
  • Ensure the Group Tax technology strategy is aligned to the Group Tax delivery model and incorporates the increasing global tax digitalisation requirements
  • Coordinates the processes and owns the architecture of systems used for Group Tax and monitors the efficiency of the processes and optimizes processes to optimize cost of operations both in Group Tax and IT.
  • Governs the Tax Data Model and manages tax data in order to improve the efficiency of the tax operations.
  • Monitors the tax control environment and risk management guidelines to ensure appropriateness
  • Provides leadership, coaching and establishes clear and aligned team objectives. Acts as role model to spark mind set to prioritize value delivery
  • Influence and collaborate with key cross-functional partners and leadership in Finance and Business teams.

Your main activities



• Create a culture of transparency, collaboration, continuous improvement, and personal development within the department and across other teams with which Group Tax Operations interacts
  • Drive the daily activities within the team to achieve deliverables which are aligned to Tax priorities
  • Establish and continuously align team priorities with Regional Tax Teams to ensure clear roles and responsibilities
  • Identifies opportunities for simplification, efficiency gains, and implements solutions to optimize and simplify processes across all tax areas
  • Build up foundation in the operations team to later provide model, forecasting and what if scenario solutions
  • Manages the allocation of team resources and budgets

What we need from you



• Recognised Leadership skills with ability to lead global teams
  • Proven experience in influencing and driving cross functional teams to achieve the desired outcomes
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity by gaining clarity of complex requirements and multiple deliverables
  • Ability to collaborate with local tax and finance teams to consolidate views, assess priorities and propose innovative and pragmatic solutions - duplicate
  • Able to communicate effectively at Senior Management level, internally and externally across various cultures, jurisdictions, and subject areas to achieve results
  • Builds and maintains high quality relationships with key partners
  • Committed self-starter capable of thinking creatively and delivering results
  • Strategic, creative problem solver with a desire for continuous improvement and value driven mind set
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with experience in systems and processes
  • University degree with a professional tax qualification and solid tax experience preferably gained in the (re)insurance industry
  • Fluent in English and able to travel as required
