People who are passionate about sustainability, driven by curiosity and keen to grow, learn, develop and thrive in our high-performance culture.The Head of Circular Economy (CE) is in charge to drive the topic of Circular Economy across the Holcim Group - further developing the narrative, identifying and realizing (new) opportunities and bringing together internal (eg. Geocycle, Aggregates, R&D, etc.) and external stakeholders - to jointly pursue the potential of circular economy across everything we do, from our plants and products to the built environment.Short Description Of The Role
  • Lead the CE strategy definition and execution through the identification and analysis of markets, opportunities by segments and competitive moves
  • Ensure a strategic fit of the CE agenda with the Group’s Growth Strategy
  • Support Holcim’s operating companies in the countries, in collaboration with Business Excellence and Cement Excellence functions, to enhance their offerings in CE, driving the performance improvement
  • Boost collaboration between internal and external stakeholders to define targets and develop the Group’s roadmap
  • Ensure reporting of CE performance indicators (monthly, quarterly and yearly campaign) and tracking of strategy execution continuously
  • Gather industry insights, systematically analyse and monitor Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW) market dynamics and update market intelligence for new business opportunities
  • Scan market opportunities including inorganic moves to expand our potential and accelerate our progress (i.e. partnership agreements and acquisition targets) and identify potential to improve the waste value chain
  • Work with R&D organisation on product innovation.
Education/Qualifications
  • Relevant master’s degree or equivalent experience in technical field
  • Additional education in business management (MBA) or Sustainability / Circular Economy is an advantage
Experience
  • At least 5-10 years’ experience in operational business roles in industry is a key prerequisite
  • At least 5 years working in the domain of Sustainability with specific focus on Circular Economy in multinational organization (global level, regional level or country level)
  • Strong track record of managing stakeholder relations and mobilizing internal as well as external groups to jointly move the CE agenda forward (e.g. government and non-government bodies)
Knowledge & Skills
  • Deep understanding of the circular economy and the potential for industries further design and develop circular products and operations
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • Strong capability to influence and provide guidance to align various players in the CE agenda
  • Evidence of having driven some important changes in the business model of previous company
