Material Planner (80-100%)

The Material Planner handles end-to-end planning of inventory in excess of invoicing, from purchase requisition to customer invoice, assisting internal customer service inquiries.

Reporting to the respective Line Manager you will set inventory parameters and inventory targets, while making sure that there is adequate replenishment of inventory through internal and external orders.

Your responsibilities

  • Segmenting the materials portfolio through ABC/XYZ analysis, product lifecycle management and commercial policy, and defining inventory policies
  • Calculating and maintaining inventory parameters in planning systems and ERP systems: safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead time, and replenishment strategies
  • Working with operations buyers to align planning of material with call offs and ensures that purchase requisitions are converted into purchase orders
  • Analyses excess and obsolete/aging inventory. Takes appropriate action for optimizing inventory and delivery performance, in collaboration with sales, development, manufacturing and procurement and logistics
  • Conducting financial risk assessments relating to inventory and planning strategy
  • Ensures that Master Data is maintained efficiently and accurately in all systems within scope of responsibility
  • Understands the impact of the Master Data maintained and provides guidance to others regarding Master Data
  • Supports material opening and master data optimizations if required

Your background

  • Up to 3 years of experience in an equivalent position – experience in planning affinity in data management
  • Basic technical and engineering understanding
  • German speaking fluently, business English grade C1
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, team player
  • Strong user knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Systemic thinking and process oriented, works accurately and with methodology
  • Customer orientation, process orientation, attention to details, strong analytical and problem-solving ability as well as good organization and coordination skills
