As a member of the R&D Biological Safety Team, you will play a key role in ensuring the biological safety of our products and materials in a global regulatory environment.

Your tasks
  • Perform biological safety evaluations / biocompatibility assessments for Class I / IIa medical devices and materials according to global regulatory requirements such as ISO 10993-1, MDR and FDA
  • Act as responsible biological evaluator in new product, explorative and change projects, closely collaborating with project cross-functional teams in an international setting
  • Develop biological evaluation plans / biocompatibility assessment strategies, coordinate material/chemical characterization and biological in-vitro / in-vivo studies, and authoring final biological evaluation reports
  • Provide materials expertise in the context of biological safety assessments, support and consult in the selection and definition of materials for different applications

Your profile
  • Master’s degree or PhD in materials science or related field
  • Several years of professional experience in the medical device industry
  • Advanced knowledge in material properties, chemical formulations and manufacturing technologies (plastics, metals, silicones, adhesives)
  • Knowledge and understanding of common chemical analytical methods
  • Experience in the field of biological safety evaluations, ISO 10993 series of standards, MDR and quality management processes is a plus
  • High sense of responsibility and willingness to provide services, independent and precise working style
  • Fluent in English; communication skills in German are desired
