The position supports the production of active ingredients and solid dosage forms for clinical studies in the Novartis TRD PHAD ORAL Supply Team. In particular, the activities relate to the GMP-compliant production of active ingredients and solid dosage forms, operation of the manufacturing facilities, support with maintenance and qualification, as well as cleaning and documentation of the activities carried out.

Main responsibilities
  • Incoming goods, appropriate storage and preparation for the dispatch of the goods
  • GMP-compliant production of active ingredients and solid dosage forms including implementation of in-process (IPC) or process flow controls (PAK) and input into the MES system. GMP-compliant documentation and control of the activities carried out (electronic batch documentation, logbooks, labels, forms, associated enclosures)
  • Support in the implementation of maintenance & calibration of the manufacturing systems and cooperation in allocated investment projects (e.g. in the context of qualification and commissioning)
  • Responsible for order and cleanliness in the assigned task areas and rooms
  • Proactive teamwork and knowledge exchange with team and project participants; Support with the onboarding of new colleagues in the role of mentor
  • Participation in the preparation of internal and external audits & active participation in the implementation of the audit
  • Participation in fulfilling the supply team-specific process indicators (KPI) as well as participation in the creation / revision of procedural documents (SOP, WP, FRM)
  • Accurate completion of training courses in the electronic training system
Process indicators (KPI)
  • Strict adherence to Novartis standards, particularly in the areas of quality, ethics, health, safety and the environment (HSE) as well as information exchange and safety.
  • Manufacture of pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical intermediates, and solid pharmaceuticals according to planning and in the right quality (production and documentation)

Minimum Requirements

Professional experience:
  • Less than 5 years proven experience in a GMP-regulated environment, provided there is no specialist training as a chemical or pharmaceutical technologist.
  • Experience in the development company of a chemical or pharmaceutical production is desirable.
  • Experience in the production of active ingredients (sieving, mixing and grinding activities) or solid dosage forms (mixing, granulating, sieving, grinding, compacting, extruding, tabletting, encapsulating, sorting, coating)
  • Forklift driver’s license is desirable
  • Language skills: Minimum: Fluent knowledge of German (oral and written) Desired: Good knowledge of English (oral and written)
