Are you ready to jump onboard?We are eagerly seeking for a devoted Performance Engineer / Senior Performance Engineer – Future Fuels.If you are someone who loves crafting efficient combustion concepts and refining the performance of 2-stroke engines to accommodate future fuels, then we are looking for you. This position is ideally based in the picturesque locale of Frauenfeld, Switzerland.Your Role And ResponsibilitiesIn the exciting role of Performance Engineer / Senior Performance Engineeryour work will focus on:- Crafting innovative combustion concepts and enhancing the performance of 2-stroke engines to run on future fuels.
- Planning, coordinating and executing performance tests on laboratory (research) engines, licensee (shipyards) engines, and on engines in service (on ships).
- Undertaking engine performance and emission measurements, developing engine tuning strategies, utilising data acquisition systems and analysers, and performing simulations like GT-Power, where applicable.
- Collaborating with the CFD team, as well as the Technology & Engineering teams
- Lending support to other business units and customers on matters related to engine performance.
- Hold a MSc or PhD in Engineering or an equivalent preferably in Mechanical engineering or similar discipline.
- Possesses a sound understanding of internal combustion engines (2-stroke preferred).
- Have strong experience with Combustion systems, Engine Performance and Emissions of 2-stroke and / or 4-stroke engines.
- Demonstrate excellent understanding of Thermodynamics and Fluid mechanics.
- Prior experience in engine testing, measurements and engine tuning is highly beneficial.
- Experience in using Simulation tools is desirable.
- A team player who is equally proficient at working independently.
- A mindset oriented towards development with a proactive positive attitude.
- Accountability along with a customer-oriented approach.
- Comfortable working in a multicultural environment.
- Fluency in English language, both verbal and written.
