Short Description

In this role, you will be responsible for the AO Foundation’s national educational events such as the annual AO Foundation Davos Courses and global webinars and webcasts. Due to a maternity replacement, this position is limited until the end of February 2023.

In this role, you will be required to
  • Plan and manage the implementation of assigned global educational events in line with AO Global Education Process and Educational Guidelines in close collaboration with surgeon leadership
  • Oversee all operational tasks for successful event delivery for your assigned activities in close cooperation with the Global Event Service team and any other operational partners related to course logistics
  • Support the Course Chairs in the development of scientific programs and other deliverables according to the given deadlines
  • Identify and invite Faculty and Speakers in close collaboration with the Course Chairs
  • Manage the organization, preparation, training and needed support for all logistical details in regards to faculty and speakers (travel arrangements, hotel booking, faculty assignments, case collection, etc.)
  • Support in establishing and maintaining financial planning and control processes
  • Manage all assigned education event budgets with prudence
  • Manage the relationships with the relevant external partner contacts
  • Close collaboration with all relevant AO teams and Managers to continuously further develop event delivery and processes
  • Conduct all assigned global educational events onsite and support chairs and faculty to achieve best possible outcome of the events



In order to master this challenge, you have
  • Higher Education / Bachelor degree with at least three years professional experience in project work
  • Very good financial acumen (budgeting, forecast, financial analysis)
  • Event planning and management experience
  • Familiarity with a cross-cultural/cross-discipline working environment
  • A goal oriented and proven service orientation mentality
  • Motivation and drive to be an energetic self-starter with the ability to work in culturally diverse teams
  • Good communication skills, good English language skills (written and oral)
  • Flexibility regarding working hours related to seasonal work load, time differences and other requirements
