Job Purpose

The Sales Manager VC Ocular Health Switzerland leads the country sales team by providing guidance, training and mentorship, setting sales quotas and goals, creating sales plans, analyzing data, assigning sales territories and building the team. Additionally, they are responsible for all Ocular Health Key Accounts in Switzerland.

They accomplish business development activities by researching and developing sales opportunities and plans; implementing action plans and managing staff. The Sales Manager heads the country sales organization (field force) and Key Accounts and reports directly into the Head of Sales VC Ocular Health DACH.

Product scope: Alcon Dry Eye and Ocular Health Portfolio, Contact Lens Care.

Customer scope: Pharmacies, practices, clinics, drugstores etc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Builds and implements national sales plans, defines product pricing and trade terms for all customers.
  • Supervises all regional Business Development Managers of Switzerland.
  • Determines annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing sales strategies, analyzing trends and results.
  • Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories and projecting expected sales volumes for existing and new products.
  • Implements national sales programs by developing field sales action plans.
  • Maintains sales volume by tracking changing trends, economic indicators, competitors and supply and demand.
  • Completes national sales operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
  • Maintains national staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees.
  • Plans, monitors, and appraises job results.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Ideal Background
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in sales and key account management, preferably in the field of ophthalmology and pharmacies
  • Team leadership experience preferred
  • Good MS-Office skills
  • High willingness to travel in your region as well as driver’s license
  • Professional and confident appearance, as well as strong communication skills
  • Distinct negotiation skills
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and acting, result-oriented approach and "Hands - On" mentality
  • Fluent English and German (written and spoken)
