More than ever, our customers are betting on the cloud and expecting Microsoft and Office to deliver an unparalleled experience, including for their most sensitive data. We have recently embarked on a new initiative to deliver fully instantiated Sovereign Clouds in select regions, to enable Government adoption and to meet unique technical, legal, and operational requirements.

Today, we are looking for a Senior Program Manager to drive M365 Cloud implementation strategies for government, public administrations, and defense customers in international markets. You will provide thought leadership to help the Microsoft 365 product reach millions of users in sensitive environments, ensuring that technical and regulatory dependencies are understood and met.

This position offers a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on our business, working with colleagues across multiple organizations and of diverse backgrounds. You will help innovate across our services, aiding with expansion into these new markets while working with engineering teams to define a global software architecture across the Microsoft 365 suite of products. With government customers changing global views on trust, privacy, security, and regulation of cloud services, you will help define a strategy to scale Microsoft’s ability to make promises around adherence to these rules to gain adoption of our cloud around the world.

This role requires extraordinary cross-group collaboration skills. You will be working in close partnership with engineering, field sales and field technical teams responsible for Office 365 and Azure, including Microsoft Consultancy Services and Sales teams. You will also work collaboratively with Microsoft’s customers, partners, and relevant governmental agencies, as a trusted advisor.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this Role include:
  • Enabling the success of the government and regulator assessment of our cloud technology as part of a formal validation program. This includes the development of artefacts, to support the government validation process and to document compliance with regulatory and security requirements.
  • Ensuring suitability of operations artefacts provided by our engineering teams, for partner and regulator acceptance. This includes performing an assessment of these artefacts, and managing iterations across our engineering teams, partners, and the government regulator to reach alignment and readiness.
  • Driving partner reviews of assessment artefacts, to develop a shared understanding and to ensure overall success of Regulator validation activities.
  • Managing customer and partner dependency specifications, in line with engineering requirements, for the success of this program.
Qualifications

Required/Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience of related professional experience, preferably in Government, Public Sector or Defense customer projects.
  • Strong grasp of Microsoft business value proposition and products, including how products and Microsoft Cloud platforms are implemented in customer solutions, knowledge of common customer and partner issues and associated remediations.
  • Experience working with country regulations, certifications, security and audit processes.
  • Fluent in both English and German.
Preferred Profile
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Security Operations, developing Security policies and developing Compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to autonomously drive Security Risk assessments, as well as experience with end-to-end architecture thread modeling
  • Demonstrated success driving complex and large scale (over 100K Seats) Microsoft 365 customer implementation projects from inception to delivery, preferably in government or public sector environments.
  • Strong project management skills, and the ability to get what you need from others while working around their own legitimate priorities.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to think strategically about technical design, business needs and opportunities, while always taking a customer-centric approach
  • Ability to work in a pleasant and cooperative way with a variety of people ranging from Engineers to customer decision makers and IT leadership. Strong organizational agility and presentation skills are important.
  • Ability to work in an empathic style to creatively help the customer work with their constraints to achieve their digital transformation outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required and as permitted.
