We have a long history of industry firsts, and each year we commit a substantial amount in Research and Development to meet customer needs and patient demands.Job PurposeAs our R&D Senior Engineer (m/f/d) you will be playing a pivotal role in our organization working cross functionally with customers and commercial stakeholders to develop the next generation of ophthalmic products.Major Accountabilities
  • Contribute to the design and development of a portfolio of medical instruments meeting the standards of quality set by Alcon Grieshaber
  • Work with our commercial colleagues to perform true needs analysis, working with surgical customers to understand long term requirements in our industry, supporting proposals through technical expertise
  • Create and monitor procedures to ensure correct assembly and usage, identifying options to mitigate risk factors
  • Ensure rigorous product testing is performed with high levels of documentation is captured to meet compliance standards whilst simultaneously gathering use case evidence that can be used to influence customer base.
Requirements
  • University degree within an engineering space, heavy preference for mechanical and/or medical focus
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Experience designing and launching new products across medical device space (preferred)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of patient safety standards and regulations (preferred)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and thrive partnering with internal and external stakeholders across a global community
