As a research scientist, you will be working on sensing solutions in the context of ABB’s next generation systems and products. We are looking for a team member with a proven research track record and the eagerness to transfer and apply world class academic research into an industrial environment. Your responsibilities
  • Contribute to and lead research projects in industrial sensing addressing the needs of our businesses
  • Generate research proposals for projects that turn state-of-the-art research results into effective solutions for ABB
  • Create prototypes and demonstrators of developed concepts with business impact
  • Evaluate new technologies and conduct technical surveys
  • Disseminate your results in patent applications, scientific publications, and technical reports
  • Build a network in the company and actively distribute your knowledge and expertise
Your background
  • PhD university degree or experienced professional with MSc in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge in one or multiple of the following fields: signal processing, embedded electronics, data analytics, or (wireless) connectivity
  • Solid experience of getting ideas from concepts to prototypes
  • Simulation, test, and validation of electronic designs is considered a plus.
  • Strong interest in sensing technologies and integration of sensors in systems
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, e.g. C/C++, Python, Matlab
  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to start on new topics
  • Excellent communication skills and team player attitude
  • Excellent command (written & oral) of the English language
