Server Hardware Engineer (Open to remote)

Leadership

Provide strategic guidance for server hardware and compute services as required

Manage server hardware and compute projects

Assist the Service Owner and Team Lead

Assist with the coordination, preparation, presentation, and implementation of proposals and projects

Be a go-to expert for troubleshooting server hardware and compute related issues

Liaise with Partner Organizations on a service management basis

Service Management

Manage, prioritize and take ownership of tasks assigned to the server hardware and computer services team as required:

Includes service requests, change requests, incidents, project tasks, and others as required

Monitor and take ownership of tasks assigned to server hardware and compute services team ensuring completion within SLA targets

Technical Support

Provide support for all server hardware and compute services

Design, install, configure and support server hardware and compute infrastructure

Assist in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of server hardware and compute automation tasks using Ansible and related technologies

Provide on-call support (either on-site or remotely using VPN connectivity) outside normal working hours as required on a rotational basis

Other server hardware and compute administration tasks as required:

Coordinate with vendor support for resolution of problems and incidents

Perform troubleshooting and performance tuning activities as required

Apply server hardware and compute patches, updates and perform upgrades

Assist in the planning and running of disaster recovery tests

Perform capacity management and reporting as required

Produce documentation as required

Perform support activities during planned maintenance windows outside of normal

working hours

Perform other duties as required

What we are looking for:

Master’s university degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology

10+ years of experience in a similar position

Extensive experience with server hardware and compute services

Extensive knowledge and support experience of the following:

HPE ProLiant servers

HPE OneView

Experience with Ansible or other automation technologies

Experience in writing technical proposals and service guides

Server hardware and compute certifications are a plus

ITIL Service Management certifications are a plus

Fluent in English. Spanish is a plus
