We are looking for an exceptional software engineer eager to make an impact in the world of railway technology. Established in 2017 and based in Zürich, Switzerland, Traila specializes in developing cutting-edge active steering solutions for trams and trains.

As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a driven and diverse R&D team comprising mechanical, simulation, and software engineers to develop trailblazing technology and create Traila’s inaugural industrially certified product.

Tasks
  • Collaborate with Control, Automation, Simulation, and Electronic Engineers to develop specifications and design software solutions suitable for use on rail vehicles.
  • Coordinate with test data and test engineers to optimise software performance
  • Contribute to system design, software integration, on time and to schedule within a dynamic working environment
  • Follow software architectural guidelines when associated with safety relevant systems.
  • Support software design, testing, debugging and software integration into rail vehicle applications.

Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (BEng / MEng)
  • Experienced in Software Architecture and Software Design methods
  • Ability to create and follow software requirements, specification and design as per recognized industrial norms (i.e. IEC 62279:2015, EN50128, EN50129)
  • Certified in Industrial Software
  • Prior experience in industrial automation and industrial software integration
  • Knowledge of C/C++ for developing embedded system applications
  • Experience in Python, C# or Visual Basic
  • Ability to adapt to a range of software platforms and programming languages targeted towards industrial applications
  • Interdisciplinary understanding of electronics, software, and mechanics
