Why we are recruiting
As Procurement is going through its own transformation, the Forum wants to redefine its Source-to-Manage (S2M) process with a focus on Supplier Selection, Contract Management and Purchasing. It includes some strategic sourcing activities on key indirect categories as well as the selection and implementation of a procurement software and on-going end-user support. An excellent opportunity for a young procurement professional to develop a broad experience across the full procurement spectrum.
Reporting Lines & Interactions
The Strategic Buyer will report to the Head of Procurement. The successful candidate will be in day-to-day interaction with a variety of internal stakeholders, as well as working closely with teams involved into end-to-end S2M operations, such as Accounts Payable team, Legal and Compliance team and our technical support teams.
Breakdown of main responsibilities
  • Design and continuous improvement of the new S2M process with a short term focus on the selection and implementation of a procurement software.
  • Strategic Sourcing of Indirect categories such as Advisory Services, Event Management, IT or Corporate Services. It will cover Stakeholder Management, Supplier selection, Contract negotiations and Supplier management for selected categories.
  • Support the design of the Procurement Operating Model and development of a procurement policy and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain a light procurement scorecard to monitor improvements and drive change.
  • Become the first point of reference for stakeholder requests related to the new S2M process and will also cover training sessions and materials
The successful candidate will be assessed on
  • His/her ability to assess current procurement operations and define areas of improvement.
  • Ability to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders to sell the new procurement mission.
  • Ability to solve requests and issues in a timely manner to drive stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Ability to run independently a category portfolio to drive compliance with the new S2M process.
  • Ability to challenge status quo and propose solutions.
  • Ability to successfully work in a team of dedicated professionals
Preferred Requirements and Experience
  • University-level education
  • 3-5 years’ prior relevant procurement experience
  • Previous experience in procurement software implementation (S2C and/or P2P) is highly desirable
  • Previous experience in sourcing of indirect categories. Ideally Advisory Service Providers, IT, Corporate Services or Event Management.
  • Strong analytical skills. Ease with data collection and analysis.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of compliance, communication skills, flexibility, attention to detail, problem-solving
  • Operational excellence, customer satisfaction and very important a”can-do” attitude
