The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is the guardian of the Olympic Games and the leader of the Olympic Movement. A truly global organisation, it acts as a catalyst for collaboration between all Olympic stakeholders, including the athletes, the National Olympic Committees (NOCs), the International Sports Federations (IFs), Organising Committees for the Olympic Games, the Worldwide Olympic Partners and Media Rights-Holders. It also works with public and private authorities, including the United Nations and other international organisations.

As the Summer Sports International Federations Relations Manager you will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with Summer International Federations for the Olympic & Youth Olympic Games and implement strategic roadmap of the Olympic Movement.


Main responsibilities

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the main liaison for a specified group of Olympic sports and their respective International Federations. Ensure regular interaction and dialogue with sport contacts at each allocated IF.

  • Take the lead as Section subject matter expert as agreed with the Head of Section.

  • Oversee the relationship with regards to all Olympic Games/Youth Olympic Games sport operations and services including liaison with the relevant internal IOC departments and Organising Committees.

  • Establish and develop a relationship with the key operational contacts at the allocated IFs, based on a clear understanding of the needs and requirements of the sports. Attend IF events, congresses, forums as agreed with the Head of Section.

  • Engage and collaborate with respective IFs on implementation of recommendation in the strategic roadmap for the Olympic Movement (Olympic Agenda 2020+5).

Olympic Games/Youth Olympic Games specific

  • Review all sport deliverables related to the specified group of Sports/IFs (e.g. IF accommodation, accreditation, ticketing, hospitality, transport as well as sport entries timeline, competition schedule, test event strategy, sport publications, sport equipment, etc.).

  • Plan, attend and ensure the timely preparation and follow-up of the Olympic Games/Youth Olympic Games planning meetings and debriefs with these IFs.

  • Ensure the appropriate contribution to the preparation of the documents required for Coordination Commissions, Delivery Partner Meetings, Technical Meetings, conference calls and sports workshops (dashboards, presentations, follow-up reports).

Institutional matters

  • Contribute to the preparation for decisions and reports for the IOC Executive Board and Session.

  • Support and guide IFs in all elements relating to their good governance and compliance

  • Ensure the preparation of the documentation for the relevant IF meetings with the Head of Section, the Associate Director, the Sports Director or the IOC President.


Our requirements

  • Master’s degree or professional experience deemed equivalent.

  • 4-7 years of project management experience.

  • Experience in the organisation of a major sporting event considered a strong asset.

  • Bilingual English and French. Knowledge of OCOG language is considered an asset.

  • Excellent drafting skills in both English and French.

  • Excellent command of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook.

  • Ability to establish a realistic, clear line of action to reach individual or common objectives.

  • Ability to produce high-quality results by adopting a pragmatic, efficient approach.

  • Ability to find agreement through mutual concessions when faced with the diverging interests.

  • Ability to examine, understand and summarise complex information, subjects or issues.

  • Ability to consider interpersonal differences as a source of added value and to interact constructively with all types of stakeholders.

  • Ability to delegate responsibilities and tasks and allocate the resources needed to achieve goals, while keeping attention to detail.

  • Excellent command of the corporate tools and compliance with the internal usage rules.

  • Ability to remain efficient within a changing environment and to adapt positively to new tasks, responsibilities or team.
