In this role, you will drive and execute the company-wide Product and Technology Strategy and assure we reliably and consistently deliver value with our products to customers.The candidate is responsible for the discovery and adoption of new technologies that yield a competitive advantage for Toradex and its customers. You will continue to develop and maintain a scalable Product Engineering Organization by leading and managing six globally distributed Product Management, Engineering, and IT Infrastructure teams (currently around 60 employees).RoleThe role assures we reliably and consistently deliver value with our products to our customers, within the scope of the company’s full-stack Product and Technology Strategy, focus markets and in alignment with our customer needs

• Modern Embedded and IoT Development Best Practices
• Edge Computing Hardware and Open-Source Linux Device Software (OS)
• Edge Device Connectivity and end-to-end Device Security
• Value-add IoT Cloud Services (SaaS)

This is a fast paced and agile technology leadership position in which you will interact and build strong relationships with business leaders across the organization while executing our product vision and transforming customer needs into quantifiable business outcomesRoles & ResponsibilitiesExecute Product Vision by using Technology as a Strategic Enabler for the Business.Product and Technology Leadership

• Execute the company-wide Product and Technology Strategy.
• Provide leadership in the company by working with the other key stakeholders.
• Be able to inspire and motivate. Get everyone moving in the same direction.

Organization and Team Development

• Create a Product and Engineering Organization with a strong management team of Product Managers, Product Owners, Group and Team Leads.
• Be committed to developing the skills of all Employees in your Department by creating development plans. Focusing on recruiting, training and coaching.

Product CultureA strong product culture is the differentiator of a great Product Organization.

• Great products are the result of true collaboration and motivated product teams. Respect and value engineers and product teams.
• Need for continuous innovation: Enable continuous and rapid testing and learning across the department. Make mistakes to learn but make them quickly and mitigate the risks.

Product Architecture

• Assure the company has a coherent product architecture capable of delivering the functionality, scalability, reliability, security and performance needed to compete and thrive in the market.

Execution and DeliveryProduct Teams Must Know How To Get Things Done

• Make sure the Product and Engineering Org. can rapidly, reliably and repeatedly deliver value and quality products to the market.
• Measures: Value, Frequency, Consistency, Quality and Reliability of Deliverables.
• Obstacle: Keep an eye on Technical Debt in the Engineering Org.

Product Discovery

• Assure senior engineering staff are actively and frequently involved and are contributing in product discovery.
• Credit Innovation to the engineering participants. Ideas supersede hierarchy: Make sure that the best ideas win and keep winning.

Evangelism

• Demonstrate Technology and Product Leadership in the community, with developers, partners and customers.
• Be the company spokesperson for the Product and Engineering Organization.

Skills and QualificationMust have

• Strong Domain Experience: 10+ years in a Business, Product, and/or Technical Management in a related industry.
• Proven success in Technical Leadership in an Engineering, Product, Business Growth, or related role.
• Product and Engineering background with understanding of Business, Market and Customer needs.
• Broad range of experience in IoT/embedded Device Hardware, Open-Source Software and Cloud Software (SaaS) Architectures.
• Degree in Business, Project Management, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or similar field.
• Experience in planning and leading strategic OKRs and business initiatives across different teams.
• Comfortable holding teams accountable for outcomes and identifying areas requiring support.
• At ease working in a multicultural, fast-paced environment, across different time-zones.
• Experience with modern and agile product development methodology and processes.
• Strong leadership, organizational, time management and decision-making skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Fluent in English, German preferred, other languages are a plus.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and a problem-solver mindset.
• Strong alignment with the company core values.
• Ability to travel international - estimated 20%
