Chief Marketing Officer

We can see that the art industry is ready to evolve. We believe in a future where technology underpins the physical art world, enabling a totally new way of creating, curating and collecting art. We want the story and provenance of every piece of art to be stored immutably. For artists to be rewarded fairly for their work and automatically receive royalties for future sales. We can redefine art ownership, opening up more flexibility for enthusiasts, collectors, artists and galleries.

Backed by two of the most influential leaders in the global art world, BCG Digital Ventures is currently building the platform that will become the digital backbone of the physical art industry. Leveraging distributed ledger technology, the platform will enable artists, art institutions, and museums to use a suite of tools to trade art and keep artists connected to their artwork. All while increasing operational transparency and efficiency in what is currently a fragmented ecosystem. We will redefine art ownership and open up exciting new models of participation for private and institutional galleries, artists, and collectors.

Due to launch in 2022, we are now recruiting the future team that will take over the reins from BCGDV and grow this business over the coming years to transform a very traditional industry primed for significant disruption. To achieve these goals, we need a fantastic team to build upon the great work done during incubation and take the business forward.

As CMO, you will be responsible for the go-to-market strategy and form part of the executive team.

What you will be doing:

  • Drive and shape the company and revolutionize the art industry as part of the senior management team
  • Oversee the marketing, sales and customer success strategy in collaboration with the CEO and deliver on the overall strategic direction and commercial objectives
  • Be in driver’s seat to develop and execute the go-to-market strategy
  • Craft the story behind our brand and communicate it successfully
  • Form and leverage key strategic relationships with 3rd parties and relevant stakeholders from corporate partner
  • Build deep understanding of customer expectations and define the targeting strategy
  • Own customer acquisition and create a strong sales funnel by collaborating closely with product and tech teams
  • Use relevant tools to capture data to monitor and enhance the marketing strategy and implement and measure relevant KPIs
  • Bring the marketing view to our product roadmap, chipping in key insights from customer analytics
  • Oversee all marketing channels, with a focus on PR, events and content marketing
  • Scale and lead a winning team of Marketing, Sales and Customer Success Managers
  • Own a seven to eight figure marketing budget and ensure efficient utilization

What we hope you will bring to the table to be successful:

  • Hands-on experience of successfully scaling a product/service, ideally both pre and post product market fit
  • Track-record of building and leading teams in a cross-functional environment
  • Experience as a strategic marketing lead in a fast paced environment, ideally within a Saas or technology-first business
  • Experience managing a multi-million marketing budget
  • Data-driven and analytical mindset
  • Successfully experience scaling a B2B marketing & sales organization across various channels (content, PR, CRM, performance, events) and functions (sales, customer success)
  • Strong experience of performance marketing (SEO, automation) would be a benefit
  • A passions for innovative technology and/or the fine arts market would be great
  • Fluent in English
