Your role

Are you passionate about building robust and reliable software to create great applications?
We’re looking for an IT software engineer to join our team. Your contribution will be to:
  • translate business requirements (functional and non-functional) into designs and code
  • participate in developing and enhancing our applications for Smart Notifications & Alerts
  • collaborate with business analysts and test engineers in the implementation of user stories
  • challenge the status quo and come up with new ideas and solutions
  • proactively manage project risks and work closely with Product owners and other affected stakeholders to address them
  • provide third level support
  • learn from others and share knowledge within the team in order to constantly improve our way of working

Your team

You will be working in the Smart Notifications & Alerts team located in Zurich. Our team is part of Digital Banking Platform crew.
We are an agile team committed to enhance our applications, working in close cooperation with our business stakeholders.

Your expertise

  • university degree in computer science, information systems or related field of study
  • ideally 5 years of experience with software engineering; open to build up the potential
  • comprehensive knowledge in Software Engineering with Java EE, Java 7+, Spring (knowing modules like Spring Core / Spring MVC / Spring Security)
  • database knowledge (PostgreSQL, PL/SQL)
  • good knowledge of RESTful API/services
  • good understanding of (automation) tools (e.g. GitLab/GitHub, Maven/Jenkins, Ansible, ...)
  • good understanding of TDD / Clean Code, Design Patterns & strong problem solving ability
  • hands-on experience in an Agile environment
  • a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle – Agile (Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc.) methodologies
  • strong communication skills (written and verbal), comfortable interacting with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • fluent in English (German is considered a plus)
