JOB PURPOSE

With regards of the Yacht Club for MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys products, the Revenue Management Analyst analyzes industry trends, competitors’ benchmarks and booking curves to determine the strategic pricing, to create promotions and to explore new distribution opportunities with the goal to maximize the revenues.

Key Accountabilities
  • Interprets historical and current data and trends to identify revenue opportunities;
  • Analyses and understands trends and booking curves by key segments, finding efficiencies and identifying opportunities for process improvement;
  • Balances risk vs. returns on investment of conflicting alternatives, i.e. incorporates dilution risk vs. market potential;
  • Sets strategic direction, determines pricing, creates promotions, and explores new distribution opportunities in order to maximize revenue;
  • Understands customers’ perception of product value and accurately aligns products price and availability with each customer segment;
  • Successfully applies yield management concepts and techniques related to the cruise industry including yield, load factors, etc.;
  • Utilizes knowledge of competitive positioning with other cruise lines and the entire leisure market;
  • Assesses current and future business performance to develop monthly net ticket revenue forecast;
  • Monitors pricing and inventory decisions in the fly and cruise plans and provide feedback to the teams involved;
  • Liaises with Product Department in order to develop joint activities;
  • Supports the Corporate Commercial organization in the effective implementation and monitoring of local commissioning schemes;
  • Constantly monitors Luxury cruise brands performance and commercial approach.

Qualifications
  • Fluent English, any additional European language is an advantage;
  • Bachelor in mathematics or Business Administration;
  • 2-3 years previous experience in Revenue Management is essential, possibly in the Tourism/ Luxury industry;
  • Ability to build business cases from analysis to be sold to senior management, including Executive Directors and CEO;
  • Excellent analytical skills;
  • Strong problem solving and decision making attitude;
  • Experience in a luxury brand would be a strong advantage.
