Research Associate - IHC/IF (80-100%)

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Research Associate to join our histology team as maternity leave coverage on a 9 months fixed term contract to conduct IHC/IF stainings for our immuno-oncology and virology projects.

This challenging and diverse position will include the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Processing and cutting of tissue for IHC/IF stainings;
  • Conduction of IHC and multiplex IF stainings of mouse and human tissue samples;
  • Establishing of new staining protocols;
  • Maintaining the equipment of the histology platform;
  • Contribution to the preclinical and translational package for all projects developed in MP;
  • Generation of high-quality data;
  • Organize, coordinate, prepare and perform IHC/mIF experiments independently;
  • Communication and exchange with colleagues in the team and in other departments.

This position summary is not intended to be all inclusive. An employee may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Requirements

For this position, we are looking for a highly motivated individual bringing along:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in IHC and multiplex IF, coupled with a master’s degree in biology, oncology or related discipline is essential;
  • Expertise in tissue processing for IHC and multiplex IF is essential;
  • Imaging of IHC and multiplex IF staining, using microscopes or slide scanners (e.g. Vectra Polaris) is essential;
  • Expertise of IHC and multiplex IF staining procedures, using automated equipment (e.g. Ventana Discovery) is desirable;
  • Experience in digital image processing and analysis is desirable;
  • Attention to detail, good communication, organization, and documentation skills combined with the ability to work independently, good time management and being able to prioritize ambitious demands are essential;
  • Flexible with ability to quickly become acquainted with new tasks;
  • Proficiency in English, any further European language is a plus.
