We are offeringsix-month internships, starting on April 1st in various Finance departments (Treasury, FP&A, Controlling, Business Performance) as well as in Marketing.

The internships will be based out of ourInternational Headquarters in Bern*,Switzerland, and partnering with teams across many locations around the globe.

Intern in International Treasury

We support all aspects of Cash Management operations ensuring we have sufficient funds to cover daily working capital requirements and longer-term growth initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily cash-forecasting models for EMEA and APAC subsidiaries, monitor bank account reconciliation, and review variances
  • Execute and monitor cash transfers, including intercompany loans, FX settlements, intracompany funding, and work directly with bank personnel
  • Support the migration of the International Treasury Center to Switzerland, interacting with Legal, Tax, Finance and external advisors
Intern in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) - Europe

We support the European market consolidation & financial reporting, working closely with the regional Finance teams, Corporate Finance, and the EU CFO & CEO.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in consolidating the EU Financial reporting, improve reports & processes
  • Engage with the business units to ensure the financial integrity
  • Analyze business performance drivers and financial impacts for various European Markets and supports with high level reporting to regional CFO
Intern in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) - Advertising

We support eBay’s global Ads business, i.e. revenue streams generated by several advertising products, like sponsored listing and display banners.

Responsibilities
  • Support our weekly/monthly revenue and expense forecasting cycles, and refine our prediction models to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Present business performance insights to the decision-makers, partner with business units to monitor their contribution towards our ambitious targets
  • Contribute to ad hoc analysis of specific hot topics as new questions continuously arise while we rapidly grow our ads product portfolio
Intern in Controlling

We support Europe reporting and month-end close processes, and coordination of various departments and stakeholders to ensure compliance and controls efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Support daily controlling activities (revenue, expenses) and monthly closing with the Revenue and Operation Controlling teams
  • Develop and improve the closing tools (SAP, Excel…), consolidate information for closing and other activities (Balance Sheet focus)
  • Support various projects like improving the reporting tools or preparing supporting documentation to comply with new international requirements
Intern in Business Performance

We report and analyse trends in global metrics to give actionable recommendation to the business, notably by using data science to develop and maintain a model that predict future outcomes on key metrics.

Responsibilities
  • Work on the analysis of global eBay performance and its main drivers with focus on competition, economy and pandemic-related drivers
  • Develop and improve forecasting tools and reports using Excel programming (Expert), SQL programming (Moderate) and Time-series analysis (Basic)
  • Support weekly reporting processes
Intern in Marketing

We support several European markets (AT, BE, CH, IE, ES, NL, PL) from a Marketing perspective; we notably develop strategy and execution of the Buyer digital marketing activities.

Responsibilities
  • Support the digital marketing strategy launch in Poland, managing campaigns across multiple digital platforms e.g. SEO/SEM, email, and display advertising; Launch and optimize social media and PR budget in Poland
  • Demonstrate ROI of marketing investment for the channels under our scope
  • Work closely with marketing agencies to improve the customer journey and overall buyer flow
Requirements For All Positions
  • Available for a 6-month full-time internship in Bern (40 hours per week), starting on April 1st
  • Be eligible to work in Switzerland (non-EU/EFTA citizens: please provide a copy of your work permit)
  • Master student or graduate in a relevant field
  • Very good command of spoken and written English
  • Highly self-motivated; Ability to work independently (and remotely) and collaboratively with multiple teams located in different regions
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, good knowledge of MS Office and Google suite applications in general
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving mindset
  • Database querying skills, data analytic tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Python), and knowledge of SAP systems are considered a plus
