Your role

Do you feel at home in Trade Finance and in the letters of credit world in particular? Would you like to use your subject matter expertise to evaluate complex transactions and be part of strategic decision-making processes across stake holder organizations and hierarchies including senior management? Do you enjoy representing the bank and participate in internal and external letter of credit working groups?

We are looking for you as the Center of Excellence (Letters of Credit and Collections) who will

  • thoroughly evaluate all possible complex letter of credit transactions under various aspects including risk, legal, internal policies, guidelines and external regulations etc.
  • act as advisor and/or participate in the decision making process of transactions where your superior and in-depth expertise is needed
  • lead the Technical Board Letters of Credit and Collections consisting of a selected group of trade finance specialists of the bank
  • ensure knowledge transfer within the bank’s global Trade Finance organization in order to maintain a high level of expertise and continuous provision of high-quality consultancy to our external Trade Finance customers
  • actively contribute to maintaining the bank’s position as leading Trade Finance bank in Switzerland
  • be engaged in strategic decision-making processes
  • represent the bank and participate in internal and external letter of credit working groups and organizations
  • participate in projects and handle ad hoc tasks
  • be responsible for other administrative Trade Finance related tasks
  • commit to a culture of continuous improvement

Your team

You will be working in Global Trade Finance Functional Management within the Trade Finance Services organization. Based in Opfikon, we provide high quality Trade Finance related support, professional advice, assessment and information not only to the Trade Finance organization but also to a number of other areas within the bank. Our key objective is to deliver excellent services to our counterparts with continuous improvement on process efficiency and risk control.

Your expertise

you are a letter of credit expert with long standing experience and track record
  • proficient in other Trade Finance products (documentary collections, guarantees) including the respective ICC rules and opinions
  • knowledge of commodity trade finance (CTF) and logistic business is an asset
  • a problem solving and customer-oriented attitude is a prerequisite
  • as a self-starter, you take the initiative and are used to work independently
  • you are comfortable working and communicating with different stakeholders on different hierarchy levels throughout the entire organization
  • acting pragmatically and solution-oriented by nature, you are able to make and communicate objective and well-founded decisions
  • you act calmly and deliberately, even in hectic situations and when working under pressure
  • you are fluent in both, German and English, French, Italian and/or other languages would be an advantage
  • you are comfortable using MS Office products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • you are used to organize, prepare and hold presentations in front of a larger audience
