Your role

Do you have a passion for the financial markets and risk analysis? Do you have an interest in enhancing risk controls for emerging regulatory and industry best practice, such as climate and environmental risk?

The EMEA Treasury Risk Control team is looking for an analyst to help analyse and control market risk in the banking book, with an initial focus on developing a strategic control framework for climate and environmental risk applied in that context. In the role you will be working closely with Treasury Risk Control colleagues across the globe and with a bank wide project team to deliver on the evolving regulatory requirements in a new and exciting discipline.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • profound understanding of market risk measures and controls, in particular for the interest rate and credit spread risks in the banking book
  • reviewing and interpreting emerging regulatory and disclosure requirements globally to enhance internal risk framework and external disclosure
  • integrating new requirements into the established risk identification processes, measures, limits and frameworks
  • liaising with subject matter experts in market and treasury risk control as well as methodology, finance, project teams and the business to ensure proposals are supported

Your team

You will be working in the Treasury Risk Control (TRC) team responsible for UBS AG and EMEA. You will work in close collaboration with departments and functions across the globe, covering business divisions such as Investment Bank and Group Treasury, you will have regular interaction with the Treasury and Finance departments as well as with key stakeholders in the climate and environmental risk project team. You should be willing to work independently, in a dynamic environment and be able to simultaneously manage multiple time-sensitive deliverables.

Your expertise

  • strong analytical thinking, well organized and a quick grasp of things
  • experience in financial markets and products
  • experience in market risk, preferably relating to non-trading activities
  • excellent academics education with quantitative knowledge
  • good interpersonal and communication skills. Works well within a team, with the ability to either perform technical work, supervise and advise less experienced colleagues or lead projects
  • ability to work independently with strong problem solving skills
