INTRODUCTION

DuPont has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an Application Engineer within our Electronic and Industrial Finishing Group.

This position in theElectronic and Industrial Finishing Group is focused on the development and improvement of metallization products for telecom, data center, consumer, and other electronics end markets. The Application Engineer works in partnership with our global team of scientists and engineers to develop and commercialize industry-leading metallization products that deliver enhanced performance for the diverse electronics markets we serve.

The Role & Responsibilities

The Application Engineer will evaluate material properties and functional product performance to support process implementation, customer troubleshooting, and promotion of our broad portfolio of metallization capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and Development of new products and processes and /or the evaluation of new opportunities/platforms
  • Strong background in problem solving, using multiple analytical procedures to identify and characterize product development barriers
  • Helps establish project plans, monitors performance according to plan and is accountable for delivering goals and objectives on targets
  • Produce and provide samples of existing and early-stage products to customers for evaluation, feedback, and iteration
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to customers during early installations of new products
  • Build and grow close customer and end user relationships to confirm device and market trends
  • Deliver technical presentations to customers on new and existing products
  • Promote a strong safety culture required for a safe working environment
Education, Experience And Qualifications
  • over 3 years in electronic components industry experience
  • PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related field
  • Master’s degree with relevant electronic component industry experience would be considered
  • Experience with applied electrochemistry and electroplating techniques, inorganic chemistry, corrosion science, surface science and/or metallization techniques is required
  • Experience in the design, fabrication, specification, or reliability of electronic components strongly preferred
  • Experience with a wide range of wet-chemical and analytical techniques such as synthesis of novel materials, SEM/EDS, and surface analysis methods
  • Effective verbal and written communication on all aspects of program activity, including demonstrated ability to make clear, persuasive, concise, and well-organized oral presentations
  • Must be able to work well in teams and to work independently with limited supervision
  • Highly motivated and self-directed individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels in the organization
Travel Expectations

Position may require up to 10% travel to customer facilities and international locations
