Equity Based Compensation Specialist

In this role you are responsible to support the Equity Based Compensation Manager & Head of Executive Compensation with data analysis and managing the administration of ABB’s equity-based incentives, ensuring they are delivered according to their Terms and Conditions, and in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Your responsibilities

  • Support the design of the global equity-based incentive plans with data and analytics expertise in line with applicable legislation and corporate governance requirements.
  • Support the Equity Based Compensation Manager with the roll-out of the equity plans, ensure there is a communication plan in place to ensure that high quality, effective and timely information about the programs is provided to participants.
  • Track and support seamless administration of the share plans, including open enrolments, withdrawals, changes, purchase processing and reporting.
  • Frequent liaison with the plan vendor around issues like billing, data exchange, process review, day-to-day queries and escalations, developments within ABB or externally, that affect the administration of the equity plans.
  • Support the Head of Executive Compensation with the budgeting of the share plans including data analysis of vesting options and impact on the budget; taxable income reports (including global withholding tax regulations)
  • Support the overall Executive Compensation team with data analytics, data management and reporting services. Maintain accurate data and reports for leavers, change of location etc. and ensure the associated tax implications are communicated to the relevant stakeholders. Oversee the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, with tight deadlines, for finance and accounting partners.
  • Track and document award requests and other activity relating to the equity-based incentive plans for the Board/Executive Committee (approval date, award type, grant date, vesting, etc.). Prepare relevant data for inclusion in the Compensation Report.
  • Assist and support internal and external audit requests.
  • Support ad hoc projects such as the HR Transformation Program (HRTP) or Company spin-off or divestments (E.g., Accelleron and Hitachi). More generally managing change and its impact on the Equity Plans which will result in many small projects.

Your background

  • Higher education professional/or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a global organization of similar complexity to ABB.
  • Knowledge of financial, accounting, tax, legal and compliance and reporting rules relating to equity/cash-based compensation.
  • Experience in the finance function or a finance background is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail and excellent planning, organizational and execution skills.
  • Well-honed communication skills.
  • Self-driven, resilient, energetic, enthusiastic, and inclusive; creating or responding constructively to challenging new ideas and inputs as well as managing ambiguity.
  • Results oriented execution mindset.
