Your field of responsibility

As Head of “Sustainability Strategy” within the Global Sustainability organization, you will be responsible for the setting and defining the bank’s sustainability strategy and desired outcomes in terms of targeted growth opportunities, and actions to deliver sustainable revenues and ensuring credibility for Credit Suisse. You will be responsible for connecting the Sustainability strategy and efforts to the group-wide strategic agenda and initiatives for coordinated outcomes and ensuring that Sustainability is at the core of the bank’s value proposition for its clients and employees.

You will formalize strategic planning and review processes including partnering with senior stakeholders within Global Sustainability and across the divisions-embedded Sustainability units with aim to contribute towards improving the bank’s top-line performance. You will also contribute to the development of qualitative and quantitative monitoring and reporting (including KPIs) of Sustainability strategy execution.

Finally, you will also act as a change agent, consultant, thought-leader, influencer, and Subject Matter Expert on Sustainability trends and developments.

You will join the Global Sustainability organization, which sets the bank’s sustainability ambition and public commitments and is responsible for selecting the bank’s core sustainability themes.

Global Sustainability works cross-divisionally across the bank to integrate Sustainability considerations into the firm’s business activities and decision-making with the ambition to put sustainability at the core of our value proposition to clients.

It also determines flagship initiatives, divisional sustainability metrics and leads the bank’s public profile on sustainability. Our team is dedicated, proactive, collaborative, and forward-looking.

This position offers remote working opportunities for an agreed number of days per week in Switzerland.

Candidates for this role should have the following qualifications
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Several years of leadership experience at either a top tier strategy consulting firm with clear focus on sustainability or in a Sustainability strategy division of a global financial institute
  • Transformational mindset with a proven performance in successful implementation of internal and external driven change
  • Proven stakeholder management with ability to build consensus across divisions and various levels of seniority, while gaining respect of senior management and business teams
  • Strong ability to influence and contribute towards improving top-line performance, either through governance or indirect revenue generation
  • Understanding of industry standards, coalitions, and regulatory developments. Able to pragmatically incorporate these developments into strategy and frameworks
  • Self-motivated, proactive, intellectually curious individual with ability to think strategically, analytically, and independently
  • High attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build and retain relationships internally and externally, and communicate with clients professionally
  • Fluency in English (both written and oral), German language skills are a plus
