Your field of responsibility

In this role you will be working in the Group media relations team with a focus on Financial Communications. You will be working across a range of complex topics, partnering with financial communications stakeholders and group functions to implement media activities.

In this role you will be handling media enquiries, creating and driving communications plans for key financial communications milestones as well as for pro-active media engagement regarding the group functions. You will be involved in drafting communications deliverables such as media releases, holding statements, Q&As and senior executive briefings in both Word and PPT form and engaging with internal stakeholders to manage and drive deliverables forward. You will be supporting the Group media relations team in ensuring smooth announcement processes on key milestones. In addition, in this role you will build and maintain relationships with journalists, serving as an essential link between the media and the bank.

Your future colleagues

The Group media relations team is a small and agile team, focusing on driving the strategic positioning of group functions including senior executives, financial communications, and issues management. The team advises on and actively manages communications with the media to promote and manage corporate, financial, divisional and functional topics in close alignment with senior executives. Within Group media relations, the financial communications team covers group financial topics such as the preparation and execution of quarterly earnings and media requests with a group financial angle while working closely with further internal stakeholders such as Investor Relations.

Your skills and experience
  • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Several years of either media relations experience in an international corporation, consultancy experience or journalism experience, preferably within the financial industry
  • Outstanding written (including editing and proofreading), spoken and presentation skills
  • Understanding of, and interest in, the Swiss and international media environment, financial markets developments as well as the related dynamics with various external stakeholder groups
  • The willingness and ability to familiarize with different and complex topics, to gather information from internal stakeholders as a basis to craft communications deliverables
  • A high level of commitment and energy to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment to meet tight deadlines
  • Fluency in German (mother tongue) and English (spoken and written); French and Italian skills would be a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to perform well in a diverse, multicultural organization
