Segment Energy Distribution Quality Manager

Reporting to the Hub Division Manager, Smart Buildings, you will contribute to the continued global success of the business.

Your responsibilities

• Defining and developing Quality strategies in line with Divisional strategy and supports their Segment adoption and deployment to accelerate the rate of operational improvement across the entire value chain.
• Quality Deployment: Develops a common and consistent approach across Hub and GPG-units in line with Division structure for quality and facilitate best practice sharing within locations in your Segment.
• Identifying talented individuals within your Segment for internal customers who require specific content knowledge and/or capabilities relevant to their quality knowledge improvement program. Mentoring and coaching Business Unit Quality candidates. Developing pipeline of Quality team members able to drive business results.
• Taking an active and leading role to assess and facilitate resolution of high impact compliancy and quality issues escalated by the different units impacting on safety, ABB reputation and customer satisfaction.
• Working with the Units to set coherent and aligned Quality priorities and targets across the entire value chain, monitor progress, analyze Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and act on deviations from targets.
• Deploying the standard quality improvement approach (i.e. Lean 6 Sigma) within all areas of the Hub and continuously improve business practices and performance.
• Driving application and development of group-wide best practice frameworks across the entire value chain to embed a culture of excellence in operational performance.
• Ensuring the Hub/GPG organization has an effective management system that addresses Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental practices within the operation.
• Providing training, coaching and facilitation support to individuals and teams so that they are better equipped to drive their improvement efforts for themselves. Executing Divisional training and development structure in line with Quality and organizational goals.
• Ensuring that the area of responsibility is organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct/indirect subordinates within HR policies. Develops the skills and competences to create a highly effective and efficient team

Your background

• Master’s degree in electrical-, mechanical engineering
• Additional Education Quality, Continuous Improvement or equivalent
• A proven track record in leading successful change initiatives across organizational boundaries
• Strong people management and leadership skills. Able to increase team’s engagement while deploying change programs
• Demonstrated ability to improve on time delivery, lead time and inventory turns
• Previous experience in application of Project Management and Lean / Six Sigma methodology
• Strong communication skills in English, consulting and facilitating skills
• Ability to work with different cultures in a matrix organization
• Customer focus and actions oriented with a systematic and structured approach
