Acting as Senior Commercial Offshore Business Partner, you provide advice on offshore business structures or models, tax and staff related implications, legal constraints, all bearing in mind that these reflect the overall strategy and global initiatives of the Process Industries Division.

This position reports to

Local division controller of Process Industries Switzerland.

Your responsibilities

  • Acting as point of contact for Sales staff in terms of contractual set-up with regards to offshore business models
  • Rating and evaluating different levels of exposure, bearing in mind the corporate governance, integrity, compliance, assurance as well as local rules in place
  • Identifying opportunities and risks of non-compliance, proposing measures to mitigate tax, legal, staff or any other project risks
  • Supporting development and implementation of relevant standards, processes, policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of tendering and execution phase with regards to offshore constructs
  • Supporting accounting and reporting activities of the offshore portion and ensuring the accounting is carried out properly and delivering training activities
  • Liaising with tax authorities and ABB tax experts to ensure best practical and pragmatic way to face a tax audit
  • Collaborating closely with the controlling team as well as the Process Industries’ risk management office
  • Performing internal controls over financial reporting processes in the respective areas of responsibility

Your background

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, working as a contract manager, a controller or a tax expert within a large multinational company in a comparable industry
  • Sound knowledge of international project business, preferably acquired in the industrial market
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach, with strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A degree in economics, business administration, law or equivalent field
  • You can drive change on your own and have demonstrated these skills in previous roles
  • Fluency in English, German is an asset
